The Kids Went Wild
Guess what we saw today?

Sure, it was only a show car, but it was cool to see.
Elliott Sadler Stays In The #19
It looks like Sadler’s threat of a lawsuit paid off for him.
The Elliott Sadler Saga took another strange twist Thursday.
Sadler will be returning to the Gillett Evernham Motorsports No. 19 Dodge for the 2009 season, multiple sources have confirmed to FOXSports.com. The news comes only days after Sadler threatened to sue GEM after rumors began circulating that he may be replaced by AJ Allmendinger.
News of Sadler’s return came on the same day that officials with GEM and Petty Holdings announced they had reached a deal to merge.
I wonder where Allmendinger will end up now…

Elliott Sadler isn’t backing down.
Elliott Sadler plans to sue Gillett Evernham Motorsports to stay in the No. 19 Dodge through the end of his contract, which runs through 2010, his attorney told ESPN on Monday.
“Our objective is to get in the car and race for them,” said Sadler’s lawyer, John Buric. “We have a contract with them. We intend to enforce that contract.”
I have no idea how this will turn out for him, but I think he’s right to pursue it.

I figured something like this was going to happen. Sadler had a contract through 2010, and the fact they dropped him without any negotiation or deal forced his hand.
Elliott Sadler, released last month as driver of the No. 19 Dodge, claims Gillett Evernham Motorsports is in breach of contract.
According to The Charlotte Observer, Sadler’s lawyer, John Buric, filed an “application and order extending time to file complaint” in Iredell County, N.C., court on Dec. 31. Sadler has until Jan. 20 to file a complaint unless he and GEM settle the dispute.
We all know this won’t put him back in the car, but he should at the very least be compensated for the termination of the contract.

Great. Now while I am watching the race, not only will I crave Subway (which happens everytime I see Greg Biffle’s car) but now I will crave a Big Mac or fries too. Thanks guys.
McDonald’s USA and Gillett Evernham Motorsports have announced that McDonald’s will sponsor Elliott Sadler’s No. 19 Dodge in six Sprint Cup races in 2008.
“McDonald’s is thrilled to partner with Gillett Evernham Motorsports, which is one of the premier teams in the Sprint Cup Series,” said John Lewicki, McDonald’s senior director of alliance marketing. “This partnership is a great fit as McDonald’s, Gillett Evernham Motorsports and Elliott Sadler are all committed to delivering quality experiences to fans and customers alike.”
McDonald’s will sponsor Sadler’s No. 19 Dodge all season and serve as the primary sponsor at Martinsville on March 22, Darlington on May 10, Michigan on June 15, California on Aug. 31, Talladega on Oct. 5 and Atlanta on Oct. 26.
I’ve never “switched” using one product over another based on the logos that appear on a racecar, but I have been known to suffer from intense cravings while watching them race around in circles.
Those cravings, however, are nothing to my want for the Daytona 500 to get here already.
