Bud Shootout Includes Ken Schrader

Rule changes to this year’s Budweiser Shootout raised some eyebrows when the eligible drivers list was announced, particularly when it came to the addition of Ken Schrader, who will pilot the No. 82 Toyota on Saturday. But even though he hasn’t been behind the wheel of a Cup car in more than a year, it seems altogether fitting that Schrader, who became the first driver to win back-to-back Busch Clashes, should return 20 years later to the site of some of his greatest glory.

I agree.

Schrader Gets A Ride At Haas

While the suspension of operations at BAM Racing really sucks, there is good news for their “former” driver Ken Schrader.

Haas CNC Racing announced on Wednesday that Ken Schrader will drive the No. 70 Chevrolet at Talladega next weekend.

Schrader was scheduled to race for BAM Racing at Talladega until they announced they were closing up shop until the fall.

I like Ken Schrader. I hope he does well at Talladega.

Ken Schrader Tries To Make Daytona

The Daytona 500 wouldn’t be the same without him. It’s great to see that Ken Schrader will be attempting to make the race.

All three of my kids are huge NASCAR fans and in this day and age you might think they were all following Jr, or Jimmie Johnson or one of the other “young guns”, but one of our kids is a huge Ken Schrader fan. I hope he makes it into the race so all three of the kids can root for their favorite.

Ken Schrader is back in a Cup car — for one points race, at least.

The veteran NASCAR driver will pilot the No. 49 Dodge of BAM Racing in the Budweiser Shootout, and attempt to get the unsponsored car into the 50th Daytona 500 on Feb. 17. The 52-year-old Schrader replaces John Andretti, who drove the No. 49 in 10 events last season, and was scheduled to drive it full time in 2008. But the team and the driver have evidently parted ways.

Wow. I wonder what happened with BAM racing and John Andretti. Thing is, it sucks to be him, huh?
