Speeding Is Speeding, Right?
You know the old clichés by heart. It’s a game of inches. It’s over in a blink of an eye. Well, Kyle Busch and crew chief Steve Addington would like to add one of their own to the list: Too fast by a mere fraction of a mile per hour.
0.005 too fast. Ouch. I am not really a Kyle Busch fan, but these ridiculous penalties really have to stop.

They may as well rename it the Busch Series.

Busch won his third consecutive Nationwide race in Texas with another dominating performance Saturday, leading a race-record 178 of 200 laps to win the O’Reilly 300 even though he insisted it wasn’t as easy as it looked.
“I was uncomfortable because of the handling of the car, just inconsistent at times,” Busch said. “My feet got hot. My body was fine, my back was OK, my head was fine.”
Still not enough problems to keep him from returning to Victory Lane.
Kyle Busch Takes The Pole At Texas
Kyle Busch will start from the pole in Saturday’s Nationwide Series O’Reilly 300 at Texas Motor Speedway.
Busch turned a lap of 188.252 miles per hour in 28.68 seconds in his Toyota on Thursday to top Matt Kenseth, who turned a circuit of 188.055 miles per hour in a Ford.
I really hope this isn’t one of “those” types of races where Busch starts in the lead and never gives it up. He may be a good driver, but he makes some races really boring as hell.

The brothers Busch can both be “difficult” at times. When Kurt lashes out, it’s kind of cool. When Kyle does it, he’s just a turd.
Kyle Busch was furious when his pit crew cost him a win at Bristol Motor Speedway, where he angrily ditched his car on the race track and headed to his motorhome on foot.
A day later, he drove it to Victory Lane.
Busch bounced back from one of his many Bristol heartbreaks with a dominating win Sunday, leading 378 of 503 laps for his second Sprint Cup Series victory of the season. Ironically, it was his crew that deserved much of the credit.
His Joe Gibbs Racing team got him out front ahead of teammate Denny Hamlin and Jimmie Johnson on the final pit stop—critical track position that helped him hang on for the win.
“I told the ladies to `Man up, get the job done on the last stop,’ which they did,” Busch said. “I’m proud of them for doing that. When the time mattered most, they got the job done.”
Kyle, you’re a great driver, but your team carries YOU. The reason we know this, is because they don’t have temper tantrums and leave the car in turn 3 on the track for YOU to retrieve it. It’s time for YOU to man up, as you put it.

So the last shall be first, and the first last.
For Biblical scholars, that was Matthew 20:16. For NASCAR fans, it was Sunday’s Shelby 427 Sprint Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Starting from the rear of the field because of an engine change during Friday’s practice session, pole winner and Las Vegas native Kyle Busch worked his way to the front throughout a race punctuated with a record 14 caution periods and streaked to a .411-second victory, his first of the season and his first at Las Vegas.
While I wish it was his brother who won the race, congratulations Kyle.

Is it any surprise that the Busch brothers would dominate on their home track? Maybe Kurt can turn that dominance into a win too.
It was brotherly love, briefly, at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Kyle Busch and Kurt Busch became the first brothers since 2000 to sweep the front row in qualifying for a NASCAR race, but Kyle Busch’s blown motor will prevent the Las Vegas drivers from starting next to each other at their home track.
Kyle Busch blew a motor in his Toyota during Friday’s practice session, changed the engine, then ran a pole-winning lap of 185.995 mph to knock his big brother off the pole. Kurt Busch ran a lap at 185.707 mph.
Believe it or not, I am actually looking forward to the race this weekend.

Busch became the first driver to win two races in two different series in the same day when he took the Stater Bros. 300 Nationwide Series race on Saturday, leading 143 of 150 laps over top challengers Kevin Harvick and Carl Edwards.
Busch ran away with the win in the Camping World Trucks series race earlier in the day, leading 95 of 100 laps en route to a 9.023 second victory.
The 23-year-old Busch, who is the only driver pulling triple duty this weekend, starts 10th in the Sprint Cup race on Sunday.
Daytona Qualifying, Gatorade Style
Congratulations to Jeff Gordon and Kyle Busch.
Jeff Gordon won the first Gatorade Duel.
Jeff Gordon found his way back to Victory Lane.
The four-time NASCAR Cup series champion, who went winless last year for the first time since his 1993 rookie season, held on to win Thursday’s first Gatorade Duel during the first qualifying race for Sunday’s Daytona 500.
And Kyle Busch won the second one.
Sphere: Related ContentKyle Busch got a little help from Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Denny Hamlin to win Thursday’s second Gatorade Duel at Daytona.
Hamlin pushed Busch past Mark Martin with five laps remaining, and Busch was able to hold off a last-lap charge from Martin and Brian Vickers to win the race to the checkered flag.
Kyle Busch Better Get Fined
It was a typical Bristol race. Good drivers got caught up in bad wrecks, someone got bumped towards the end, and tempers flared. I love races at Bristol.
Edwards saw Busch lead 415 consecutive laps Saturday night at Bristol Motor Speedway, then used his bumper to nudge Busch in the first turn on lap 470. That move caused Busch’s car to wiggle just enough so that Edwards could drive by for his second consecutive victory on the NASCAR Spring Cup Series.
Poor Kyle Busch was so upset he tried to smash Edwards from the side and Edwards showed him who was boss. Again. For someone leading the points race and a contender for the championship, he’s not acting very champion like.
After taking the checkered flag, Edwards was making his cool-down lap around the track when Busch drove up and bumped his car. Edwards clearly wasn’t amused, and when he responded by driving the nose of his car into the right side of Busch’s, the fans cheered wildly.
Let’s see NASCAR be consistent with this one.
Kyle Busch Wins Again. Rinse. Repeat.
Man, I have to say, for a road race, today’s race was pretty good. Lots of action, a bit of excitement, one big wreck, and a typical ending.
After rivals Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon said during the week they thought he was slipping following two straight lackluster finishes, Busch answered by making NASCAR history on Sunday. He led 52 laps from the pole and won the Centurion Boats at The Glen at Watkins Glen International to become the first driver in NASCAR’s history to win three road course races in one season.
I got some really good screen shots I need to pull from my DVR tomorrow, of the wreck, hopefully I will have time to post those tomorrow. Needless to say, the slogan showing on the banner, with the wreck below, had me chuckling out loud.
Let’s hope Bobby Labonte is going to be okay too.
